It seems in the past few years we have been getting an influx of calls for Flying Squirrels attacking homes in “The Point” neighborhood in Mooresville. These little guys are different from Grey Squirrels you seen bouncing around in your yard. Flying Squirrels are nocturnal which means they only move at night. Unlike the Grey Squirrels, Flyers come in numbers, they are a colonizing animal.

There could be anywhere between two and two dozen living in one attic. The silver-lining to them is that they are not near as destructive as Grey Squirrels (chewing on wires, HVAC system, fascia boards on the exterior, gutters, etc). One of the more common complaints that we get with Flying Squirrels is that the homeowners normally hear the noises only at night and often hear what sounds like marbles being rolled around.
